Works very well good for accessories and consumables

A few things stop it from being perfect, but nothing means it has to lose a star. It works as promised and I have successfully used it to power my entertainment system. My old power amp has no trigger input or even a power switch! Using it with my preamp in the control socket did the trick. Of all the solutions I considered for powering an amplifier, this made the most sense. Pros: It works well as advertised; Sufficiently long 8-foot power cord; Automatic / manual switch; Well-placed sockets; working LEDs; Lifetime warranty and even insurance for my equipment! This saved me from having to have (another) remote control to turn on a component. Cons - sort of my wish list would include a different ratio of non-switchable and switchable outlets. I need to turn on an outlet and there are five of them. The more unswitched the better, and there are only two of them. It has to be a different model to suit my needs, but daisy-chaining another extension works fine. It's also physically very wide, barely fitting in my entertainment center's cable slot. It works great here too, so this is less of a criticism and more of a wish list. The actual scam isn't very pretty. On the other hand, don't buy it to show off. Conclusion I found it a bit pricey at first, but it was worth it in the end. It does its job well and puts my mind at ease. Also, Tripp Lite is a Chicago company, so I generally support local businesses. It can never be bad!

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Ease of maintenance
