Cheap but cheap best in cycling

Bought these to try as an inexpensive grip. They're cheap, so there's something. But as a 220-pound guy who rides aggressively, that's NOT what I need or want. They were GREAT for the first two weeks or so, but after that it went downhill fast. At first they offered great cushioning and were great to ride, then over time I noticed that my hands became more uncomfortable, they started tingling and eventually they went numb. After driving them for a month and about 100 miles they turned out to be junk and I just bought some brand new pens. On the other hand, I also bought them for my 12 year old after he tried them and liked them. So far he has no complaints. He drives more than me but not as aggressively as me and he doesn't drive as fast and hard as me. He also weighs about 115 pounds so I put him on about 105 pounds lol. However, I know how to ride and I do NOT put tons of weight on my arms. During yesterday's 9 mile run my hands were numb, tingling and lacking in padding, and I'm also wearing soft FOX gloves. Also, after just a month of riding, the beautiful red color on them completely faded to pink. My bike is ALWAYS indoors, protected from the sun. When/where I ride it's mostly forest with no sun PLUS my hands cover the grips. So if the color of the handles fades that much, it's really bad quality. All in all, for the $9 they cost, I'd bet they're rubbish for most adults. For a child it's a different story.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Pretty good
