Overall I love the design and would definitely prefer the simplehuman mirror to other brands. - 1 star because the body looks like some kind of coated plastic, not real stainless steel. Mine arrived with a little nickname on the back of the mirror. But since it's on the back I decided it wasn't worth returning for a new one. I wanted a wired version because I didn't want to worry about charging (not to mention the charging drawers in the bathroom). Connecting the power to the outlet below where the mirror was installed was easy enough. However, I wanted it to be centered on the outlet and installing the round junction box was challenging due to the bolt right there. I had to cut out part of the stud to make room for the box. Also, the base of the mirror isn't wide enough to fully cover the old box. The blue plastic is visible when looking at the base from the side. Although a new working box would be fine. So if you are installing or remodeling a mirror as part of a new bathroom where you can plug in a new electrical box, go for the hardwired option. Otherwise, messing around with the wiring and cutting a big hole in the wall is probably not worth it. The battery version certainly works just as well and doesn't need to be charged often as far as I know.
