Update: Lasted exactly one year. Now he won't stop playing his song at home until I unplug him. I changed the batteries, restarted, but it no longer works. I really enjoyed it while it lasted. My house is about 300 feet from the front gate. I've had situations where my gates were closed (electricity, delivery requires a signature, etc.) and dogs were guarding them, but people had to contact me. This is a great solution. Initially the alarm was too sensitive, picking up traffic movement around the bend in the road, but the fact that it's ball bearing mounted and therefore can be angle adjusted makes it a winner. Now it's perfect and triggers when someone enters the parcel delivery area. And it comes with a doorbell! From the reviews I noticed that it is not waterproof. So I put it in a lidded Tupperware and put a "Call Service" sign on top that wasn't attached at the time these pictures were taken. The courier rang the doorbell yesterday so I know he's working. There are tons of songs with this product and you can have a different one for the alarm and doorbell but I only use ding dong for both. Shorter and cuter.
