I mainly use it when traveling but I also use it to connect my tablet or phone to 4K TV. This allowed me to leave my laptop at home, connect it to my phone, insert SD and micro SD cards, download 4K videos and digital images to a portable 1TB drive. It also charges the phone. The only major difference from the previous one was the addition of a third USB-A port. Power flow through the USB-C port, which delivers both data and power, is excellent. Video to HDTV through the phone was great, plug in the USB stick and use the phone's video player.
