For a man, compression stockings are pretty decent. There seems to be a little loose or less compression in the cavs, ankles and feet, but the hips are fine. I am size XXL. my measurements Ankle 25.5cm, calf 39.5cm, thigh 61.5cm I tried them to see if I could find a cheaper brand. They also irritated my skin. The other look I got was excellent. They fit my size very well. I also noticed that the color has gotten lighter. As I have a light tan it suits my skin tone well. If you have narrower hips, I would choose a smaller size.
