Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ AIRMEGA Max 2 Replacement Filter Set for 300/300S - Superior Air Purification by Eduardo Purewal

Short filter life - almost no char if you look closely

I had to change the filter on my Airmega about every 1-2 months because I smoke vapes. was puzzled why the filters reduced performance over several weeks as the car became louder and barely breathable. Contacted Airmega Support: Made some videos for them. filters sent in. Then the whole car. Their final conclusion: Excessive moisture from e-cigarettes will degrade the adhesive that holds the HEPA filter together, thereby degrading airflow and the filter itself. I expect smokers will have the same problem since the smoke also contains moisture. So I throw out practically perfect filters that look like new because a little extra moisture will ruin the glue. That's bad technique. Beware of humid environments - one of the questions I was asked was whether I use a humidifier. Now - THE FAILURE OF ACTIVATED CARBON - after replacing and checking so many filters, I have found that these filters contain almost no activated carbon. . Certainly not enough for the air flowing through the filter to actually be filtered by the activated carbon. View the attached photos by holding it up to the window. You can clearly see through the few granules that are in each of the honeycomb structures. I venture to surmise that there will be no noticeable difference between any of these filters and the standard HEPA filter that comes with the unit. If the air isn't actually flowing through the charcoal, it has no effect. In the future we will try one of the third party filters that claim to make better quality filters and specifically advertise not just smoke but smoke in particular. Steam. Oh, and there are photos that seem to show a lot of activated charcoal actually filling every comb. Either that or just a standard HEPA filter for the unit, which is much cheaper and probably just as effective as OEM filters. In short, what a disappointment for me. In the near future we will get a better filter system and put it in the basement.
