Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Wusthof In-Drawer Tray Knife Storage: 7-Slot, Natural Wood Organizer by Ryan Mosqueda

Great knife storage - if you don't have a knife fetish.

Apparently my husband has a knife fetish. I've always suspected it, but after 3 years of owning this knife rest, it's impossible to deny. When I received it it matched all of our kitchen knives perfectly, allowing me to get rid of the clunky (and usually dusty) knife block that had been sitting on our countertops for over 20 years. The tray fitted very well in our drawer and all the knives were lined up neatly and under control. Please note that our steak knives are in their own holder, so they are only used for chef's knives. Now for some reason I have to either buy another one or get a bigger one. DH has collected MORE kitchen knives and swears he can't get rid of them. He alternates between them, with various becoming his "favorites" for several days before discarding them in favor of another that catches his attention. Now there's a pile of knives in the drawer between that tray and the cutlery tray, and every time I reach for it I half expect to lose my fingertip. We're going to be moving soon and I brought up the subject of weeding kitchen knives and he almost fainted. It's like a little kid with 4000 plastic dinosaurs who can't refuse any of them! I keep sending him articles where experts say you only need THREE kitchen knives, but he ignores them. .sigh. I think he might have worse fetishes. [.smiles] Seriously, this tray has been working really well for over 3 years now. If you don't have more than 7 knives, of which no more than 3 are long knives, then this should suit you. But if you have more knives or a spouse can't resist a shiny, sharp new knife, consider choosing a larger one that will last longer. Check the dimensions to make sure it fits your drawer.
