The reviews of "works well with practice" or "not for beginners" confuse me a bit. You create a package no bigger than a heavy ballpoint pen. Most flat heads hang off the end of the paracord and don't make as compact a package. In any case, after the first pass to remove the protective varnish, the two I bought have more sparks than they did on the 4th of July. Highly recommended.
