Useful, colorful and practical
These are all-metal (probably aluminum or tin) caps that are ideal for protecting the tips of soft-tipped pencils (or those with sentimental goals), or preventing graphite from rubbing off other items. .A little taper at the end ensures your tips don't get damaged (I don't know many that are sharpened to this level). I would look for it in any pencil cap, plastic or metal, in my opinion. The color coating is pretty, but it also serves a useful purpose by helping you identify specific pens. In any case, pay attention to the metal in the slots and sometimes the burrs on these edges. They are not always well deburred, so they can scratch the pen.
