I bought this kit to build and learn with my 10 year old daughter. She worked on the Robotics Science Fair project for her elementary school. We spent several evenings together building and programming the robot car and had a great time, we learned a lot! Alongside her research on the project, she used the robot car as an example of what a robot is and what the parts of a robot are. This kit is very well made, all components are neatly and safely packed. and programming are very well written and illustrated. There are several Arduino programs provided to highlight the use of one or any of the sensors included in the kit. The design was simple and fun, no soldering required. The kit includes a special UNO shield used to integrate all the cables for sensors and motor control signals, very elegant and easy to use. In our own haste to get the project together on time, we decided to use one of the pre-built programs to drive the car and trace the strip of black tape on the floor. It worked great and was a huge hit at the non-competitive science fair. However, the kit also includes details that allow hobbyists to continue their exploration and customization of programs that serve as a launch pad for endless fun and learning. . I'm also a hobbyist who enjoys playing with Arduino/Pi and other electronic crafting items. This kit is great for beginners to learn the basics of robotics and electronics/mechanical engineering and computer science.
