At the price I bought for 16.99 and the product is for dogs you would expect it to be dog safe. The wooden handles of the product must fit into the felt loops and are very easy for dogs to remove. I left it for my dog and she started chewing on it and when I came back there were wood chips everywhere and I had to clean them up. For $17, I wasn't expecting just a felt box with no solid, flat bottom.
