Review on Shine Like A Star In Metme'S Sequin Fringed Gatsby Dress by Kendra Smith

DO NOT buy the green version - serious design flaw

It took work to make this dress so incredibly unflattering. I fail to understand why the green dress’s designer added an abstract gold rose, right on the apex of the wearer’s thighs, that is, the crotch area. The gold rose really, um, pops: the bright gold embroidery matches none of the dress’s dark fabric, beading, sequins, or fringe. The eye naturally goes to the abstract rose design, which suggests the wearers would like all viewers to know that they do not wax, trim, shave or groom their groin fur. It’s fine to be au naturel, but is it something worth discussing at a cocktail party? Okay, it depends on the event. The photos are misleading in another way, too: this is not a true flapper dress. The dress is cut to accentuate the bust, cinched at the waist, and curved from the waist around the hips. I have a have a small chest, and a post-baby belly and rounded butt, so the dress had two limp round empty bulges at the top, and fit tight around the waist and butt. A real flapper dress would have worked for my body, because its style featured a drop waist, and the dress was fitted only around the hips. None of the flapper dresses I have seen included a bright contrasting design on the center lap area that suggests crotch hair.If you are going to an event that is vulva-focused, and you’re looking for a fringed body-con dress with beads and sequins, this dress is for you. Heck, I’d give you mine: I missed the return window by one day. I’m stuck with it.

Pros
  • A dress like this is perfect for any special occasion where you want to make a statement
Cons
  • The dress may not be suitable for all time zones as it may be too hot or cold
