Out of the box this is a very good tool. With a few DIY tweaks, it can be a great tool. The tool supplied works well but is not very smooth. I decided to open it up and check out the inside. For disassembly, 1 circlip (outside) and 1 electronic clip (inside) must be removed. The internals look good, but the lubrication is terrible. This is a typical yellow Chinese snack that is marginal when new and becomes waxy over time. I cleaned off all the bearing grease and poured in plenty of Lucas X-TRA Heavy Duty Grease: http://a.co/8wmRJvs Put it all back together and the difference between day and night was huge. Operation across the full range of motion is as smooth as possible. Another setting concerns the cardan shaft. The tool worked well with a Ryobi 18V cordless drill. I wanted to see how it would work with the Ryobi 18v cordless impact wrench. I was amazed at the difference. A percussion drive with a shorter spout makes things less awkward. It also requires less hand force and tightens rivets better. There is a problem with using an impact wrench. The drive shaft will not engage because the machined groove on the shaft is too deep. I used a dremel with a cutting wheel to shorten the end of the shaft (see photo). Now that the tool is locked in place, it swings full swing making rivet setting a breeze. As long as you put a few rivets here and there, any power tool will work just fine. If you're installing dozens of nuts, an impact wrench is the way to go. It's faster, tightens nuts tighter, and is much more comfortable on your hand.
