Do exactly what they're supposed to do, but they get HOT!

I recently installed LED headlights on my Jeep Wrangler JKU. During installation, one of the high beam circuits failed. I don't know why but there is no fuse or relay so I had big problems. I decided to connect both headlights to a different side circuit but was concerned about another fault so I built a new wiring harness so both headlights would be powered directly from the battery. I used the remaining good headlight supply to switch the relay. Everything worked fine but the relay worked quickly when the engine was running. This appears to be caused by low current draw causing the CANBUS system to fail. Load resistors are the solution and it was a great price so I placed an order. I installed them right away and they solved the problem as expected. Since I only needed two, I also have spares in case one fails. Well! Remember they convert 2A at 12V directly into heat so they get HOT. I have seen temperatures of 200 degrees! I had to attach them to the case to absorb some of the heat. My other option was a radiator, but attaching it to the car turned out to be easier. Don't be stingy with installing them properly or you could start a fire! Updated to include a picture of my setup which I thought might help people. I attached them to my Jeep's body under the hood and applied thermal grease underneath to improve heat transfer. Even with all that metal, the resistors still get pretty hot and the surrounding steel gets pretty warm. Be careful with this!
