It works great, but is a little bit inconvenient in handheld mode.

I am able to use a PlayStation 4 controller using this but I really wanted to use it on the go. Because it is USB-C and that plugs in the bottom, it makes it difficult to prop it up or hold it in my lap. I ended up buying a set of USB-C adapters including two different 90° fittings so it can either stick out the back or off to the side.
