It's great! I work in the emergency room and wear a surgical mask all day. The ear loops on most masks are too tight/too tight for my ears. With this strap I put it in the ear loops of the mask and then I can adjust the switch tight enough. It also allows me to wear the strap at the base of my neck instead of at the back or on top of my head which is much more comfortable for me. Bonus: if I want a sip of coffee, etc., I can flip the switch and leave the mask but hanging under my chin until I'm done. As I wear glasses this is preferable to wearing a mask otherwise my ear loops will get tangled in the glasses.
