Conclusion: I have updated this review. My original oven broke although the food was great. My initial report slipped through the cracks but customer service contacted me and replaced the oven for me free of charge. They even let me upgrade to a GEN 2 stove - and I had no problems with it. I've been using Tovala's food delivery service for about two months and I really like it. The dishes are tasty, surprisingly easy to cook in the oven, easy to clean up and the portion/calorie content of the dishes is very good. To use Tovala you need to buy an oven - the oven uses a combination of convection and steam heating at different intervals. The process is easy for the user - you just scan the QR code and the oven will automatically adjust the cooking type of the product. The longest meal prep time I've had was around 20 minutes, with most taking 10-15 minutes. Buying an oven increases the cost of the dishes significantly, but this should offset itself if you use the dishes long enough. That's where the model works. in trouble - if the stove breaks after a short use. That happened to me. I had been using the electricity service for about 6 weeks with no problems when all of a sudden my oven had trouble connecting to the WiFi. The oven relies entirely on WiFi and a QR code - without an internet connection there are very few options for setting the time/temperature/cooking type. Even if it were, none of the dishes or the website would have instructions on how to hand cook them. You MUST have a working Wi-Fi connection to your oven. Mine stopped working after about 6 weeks. I eventually went through a few hurdles but they eventually replaced the oven and allowed me to upgrade to GEN 2. GEN 2 is much easier to use and fixes many of the issues with GEN 1.
