Good. I was impressed by the enthusiasm of some of the other reviewers and ordered a pair of these binoculars. I was really interested because of the demands for excellent optics. And they're damn good at that. so much so that I almost kept it despite other considerations. First. Those are pretty heavy binoculars! Weighing over a pound they don't seem too heavy but if you plan on using them for hiking. It's like carrying around two bottles of water. This was my main reason for returning. Second, the mechanisms are quite tight. This can be good because you don't have to "reset" your glasses every time you look inside. But I found them too heavy. and my wife went to great lengths to get her to work for her. Third, I can't imagine how they came up with the name "Scoop X". To me it sounds like something to empty a liter crate. It might be better to consider "Area X". In fact, however, this is not a reason to return them. just a little stuck in my goiter a little. I'm still scratching my head about this. As I said. I had a hard time deciding on her. I ended up ordering a pair of Nikon Aculon A30 10x25s ($65) to compare both the optics and overall ease of use. I kept comparing two binoculars. and I swear I could not bring myself to ascribe the superiority of one over the other. The perception of details was identical! Nikon only weighed about 10 ounces and was very compact. I like the smoother "ease of use" with them. But Nikon wasn't perfect either. They don't have a tripod mount (which I appreciate) and come with front lens caps only. without the possibility of threading them through the strap so as not to lose. End caps not included. general. All of this has been said. In the end I chose Nikons. They cost three times as much, weigh less than half, and have glass that's just as good. I used to have a pair of Leica 10x25 BCA lenses which were an amazing product. If I could afford to pay $500 I would definitely buy a few more of these. But these days the pockets aren't that deep. as a final note. if you're not too worried about the Scoop X's weight. I have to admit that they seem pretty sturdy and well made. A good product. but wasn't the best choice for my purpose.
