This rail works for me. My symptoms of plantar fasciitis are decreasing. It's not too hot or itchy. With the heel counter modification, I can keep it up all night. The round hole around the heel feels nice when I go to bed but starts digging into my skin in the middle of the night. I had to loosen this component, which wasn't the end of the world. The other 2 straps provided adequate back flexion stabilization, but not as much as we would like. I made vertical incisions in the round hole where I pressed too hard on the skin. It helps and I feel comfortable in a corset at night. Ideally, I'd like a little more back flexion. It doesn't stay at 90 degrees all night. But my symptoms are decreasing. I use about a week. If they don't go away completely in a week or two, I try a corset with a strap to adjust the amount of back flexion. Before this corset I tried a splint in the form of a sock. It didn't help me at night. To get enough flexion in the back, he put too much pressure on my big toe. I couldn't stand it for more than a few hours at night. My particular "brand" of plantar fasciitis is a band of fascia that runs to my big toe, so I use a sock bandage for a more aggressive and longer stretch when I'm sitting for long periods (like right now while I'm at the computer).
