I use these for mountain biking, so I'm only in the saddle for 10 miles. Can't say how the chamois would hold up for longer road rides, but I like the fit/compression. I wear these under baggies but they would be fine to wear on their own too if that's your preference/or you're road riding. the fabric is sturdy and comfortable, but this product is not made for people with bigger hands. I am an ex football player so I wore XL to XXL football gloves so in regards to wrapping these straps around the bar it only was able to cover half of my hand.
