I use mascara very sparingly, only to color my light eyelashes. I find this makes them soft and not lumpy. Of course, if I add a lot of layers it might get clumpy, but in a layer or two it's nice and subtle. The brush could be smaller but I use it carefully to avoid getting the mascara on the eyelids. I washed it off with my regular cleanser that I use on my whole face and used a water tip and micellar water for the residue I was missing with my hands.
