I never owned a sonic toothbrush before. We do have Brown electrical toothbrushes and this is a new experience. I have no experience in comparing this to the highly rated and very expensive brands that you find on Revain. This has three modes and automatically times out after a total of 4 times 20 seconds. It does a great job removing plaque and I can feel this after brushing. Maybe not so good between the teeth but we have a water pick for that. It has a decent size battery and holds the charge for a long time before I have to plug it in again. I have been using this a little over a week and so far it's great.
