Review on πŸš— Upgrade Your Ride with Monroe Shocks & Struts 555010 Shock Absorber and Coil Spring Assembly by Brandon Daughenbaugh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not a terrible job, you can do it, but it's not easy. Ford E350

Shock absorbers work, not sure if there is petrol in them. I think everything is in spring. This raises the rear maybe 3 inches. It helps, but still pretty noisy, I think the leaf springs are probably bad. Getting her in a vehicle, what a pain. My bolts on the old shock absorber are rusty. The only way is to cut it. The bottom of the shock had to be jacked up and it was not possible to remove the bolts from the bottom of the shock without cutting it off. The upper left shock bolt is 3 inches from the gas tank. I would say over 2 hours per hit. No need to remove the tire, just lift the car off the ground. A 3 ton jack with a piece of wood on the frame in front of the tire helped me. Anyway, when removing the bottom bolt, the old shock rusted and fell apart, so the pipe wrench didn't work. Twisting of the shock absorber from a rusty bolt. It doesn't happen lol. The bottom bolts do not thread into the shock absorber. Ford?) Installing a new (shock) ok there were metal burrs on the underside of the shock that could cut your hand if you try to turn the entire shock. Both nuts on the turn were the same size, so (2) a 3/4 wrench was needed. Put them on for 30 minutes using the jack underneath to align the thru bolt. There's nothing easy about that. Cut until the bolt breaks. Once you get hit in the post and out of the box, take the top screw and tighten and loosen it about 100 times. Your first 30 moves won't be easy. Clamp is on the vehicle. Not a terrible job, you can do it, but it's not easy. ford e350
