I have a couple of OBD2 code scanners. They are great for general codes but were useless to read some of the codes on my 2016 Mini Cooper. In particular the SRS codes. While I was fixing the heater element in the driver's seat, I turned on the ignition with the wiring harness disconnected from both seats.
