This is my second Delonghi machine and after 3 years of use I like this model as good as new. I love it so much I had my first car repaired so it's ready to go should the car need repairs (some of which you can confidently do yourself). And because I got to know this car so well, I wanted to share my experience. This will help extend the life of your machine. Number one: use bottled water. The most damaging element for the machine is limescale deposits, which are not easy to remove even with commercially available descaling products. The use of non-mineralized water, such as spring water or distilled water, prevents limescale deposits on the valves. The water goes through an exciting maze of hoses and devices before it reaches your cup, and they have to be clean. - Use a commercially available descaler when the indicator light comes on. A clear solution confirms the quality of the water used - Rinse the infuser (aka the infuser) regularly, but more importantly make sure the plunger goes through the unit easily. The device is maintenance-free and must be lubricated occasionally. Signs of a malfunctioning brew unit include creaking or groaning and/or noticing spilled coffee grounds inside the unit. Correct this immediately as it puts stress on the gearing that drives it through its cycle. The piston consists of two parts: the outer shell and the inner piston. To get the job done right, remove the U-clip from the bottom of the brewer, causing the inside of the plunger to fall out of the bottom. then slide the outer shell through the top. There are two orange high pressure seals on the outside of the piston. They maintain pressure and prevent coffee from escaping the device during brewing. If you find coffee dripping into the bowl, it needs to be replaced. Use a food grade lubricant like petroleum gel and saturate the rubber seals. Assemble the device, after which the piston should slide smoothly through the device. — If you froth milk regularly, the rubber O-ring in the steam wand and its outer sleeve will need to be replaced regularly. - If the steam pipe begins to leak during the brewing process, it must be replaced. Order a new faucet in the online store of spare parts for household appliances. The main one has a video showing how to do this repair. Using high-quality beans with a minimal amount of oil allows them to pass through the grinder easily. The belt that drives the coffee grinder can be replaced if necessary. - Use the appropriate dial on the grinder to set the espresso body. It usually takes a few cycles to see the corrective effect. If no coffee comes out, the grind is too fine; if it's too watery, it's too cool. I was blown away by the technology that went into this car. I recently changed the faucet and took some photos showing why it is so heavy and how long the water runs.
