I bought them for my son. He has had Clarks shoes for years and I would always rather spend money on quality shoes than buy multiple pairs of cheaper shoes. Clark's quality has always been something that can or could be counted on. The last few pairs he's had haven't lasted anywhere near as long as I expected - the sole or heel wears out within 8 weeks or so, but I put that down to him scratching his feet etc. instead of degrading the quality. But I can't blame him for that! They looked great and he really liked them - the leather was soft and comfortable. BUT. Wear it for three days and the sole on one shoe started hanging out! I couldn't believe it! I don't expect a 70 euro pair of shoes to fall apart in 3 days! I didn't even expect a pair of shoes worth 6 euros to fall apart so quickly! Apparently they were sent back as defective, but that's not good. Clarks have changed a few things lately - either made overseas, using different technology and/or materials - but they will lose their long standing reputation if this becomes their new standard! Having been a customer of Clarks for so long I'll give them another chance and hope this (another) random pair was low quality and that the new pair I've now received for my son will fit the bill. (It's been 3 days now and the shoes are still intact so we hope!)
