I was very specific when I ordered this. Before ordering, I checked the dog size, van size, dog weight, van maintenance, etc. The item description states that it can hold up to 20 pounds of a pet. Received this today and the box clearly states the pet is 13lbs. I bought this especially for my daughter and her epileptic dachshund. He looks strong, so I'll let him. I tried to consider this dog's specific needs before placing an order in order to get a suitable carrier. 7 pounds is a big difference when you're talking about a pet. Breathable fabric, which is important in the Deep South, doesn't matter. I tried to breathe through it, but I couldn't feel my breath through the fabric. However, the interior of the carrier is easy to clean when seated in the stretcher during transport. It seems sturdy enough to be washed easily. I assume they meant that the mesh fabric is breathable and the rest of the fabric is not. If the product description was accurate I would not have ordered this carrier.
