Pre-ordered before release - couldn't wait to get it. And now I can't wait to get it back. In terms of design, they are great. If you sit still next to your phone, the sound quality is fine. But that's all. Gym-Test (don't you dare sweat because they're not sweat/waterproof) summed it up. Virtually nothing north of mid-bass, or maybe 600Hz, felt like it was decreasing at all. This is very different from my 2 year old (wired) Bose noise-cancelling in-ear headphones and is light years away from Sony's own full-size models. Toggle the noise canceling switch on these models and your ears will experience that amazing altered state as sound pressure changes and the outside world disappears. Not here. At that price point, they were little better than my $40 set of TRANYA earbuds that I usually use at the gym (only passive noise-cancelling through earbuds). The $40 Tranyas are also sweatproof, much lighter, have a smaller body, smaller form factor, and longer battery life. Pairing with the iPhone was not reliable. Sometimes it paired and sometimes it didn't, so I had to select it on the iPhone, turn it on and off, or put it in and out of the case. The sound quality is great, especially when you choose the sound quality compared to the app). I did that, but during a typical gym workout, when I was doing squats with my phone in my side pocket, the signal went dead or one ear stopped working. I couldn't believe it. I tried using it as a way to meditate while others were in the room - it doesn't really cut vocal frequencies in a comfortable way. Other features (like enabling ambient sounds) are forgotten if the main feature is mediocre. So they will be sent back only 3 days after receipt. I think this is all hype. Yes, some people will buy them because they look cool, and why not. But in terms of performance, they don't compare to my wired Bose noise-cancellation, and for $229 they don't offer enough to compete with my tiny waterproof tranyas. Sonya gets tired of carrying it, Tran doesn't. I wish it was one of those "I loved the product so much I bought the company!" reviews, but rather "Oh wow this thing is great but doesn't deliver at all and will come back." Sad.
