I originally bought the Apache 5ml pack based on negative reviews about thinner bags. No problem, very hard end result. Then I bought a 3ml pack and again no problem. 3ml was strong but less rigid. If the area along the inner paper wasn't completely clear, I wiped over it again after it cooled. I knew my end product would be next to the water so I wanted the heat seal to be as close to the inner paper as possible. I would like to add that sometimes it was necessary to pass it through the machine several times, ie 3, 4, 5 times, to get such a tight seal. Always cool the laminated paper, before skipping it for another thermal pass. With the combination of Apache machines and Apache laminate bags, no matter 3ml or 5ml, there will never be a problem.
