I don't think this is the best set for beginners, 1. It's missing some fairly basic stamps that you'll be using most, no bevels, mules or flashlights were included in my kit. 2. The grooving blade has become so blunt that it is almost useless. It doesn't come with a dedicated bevel cutter, just a set of blades that you need to insert into the seam groove. Switching back and forth is very awkward as the blades are held in place by a tiny set screw. Stamps can of course be used, but they need to be cleaned and sharpened. Get ready to sharpen and grind everything in this set. If you're just starting out I think you'd be better off with a starter kit from a place like Tandy, a lot fewer tools for the money, but you'll at least get the most basic and commonly used tools. This kit has a lot of things you don't need right away and almost not enough of what you need to get started.
