I have had this heater for a year now and overall am very happy with it. a photo). Due to my hood configuration, the hanger for the digital reader will not fit between the hood and the rim of the tank. It was only securely fastened at an angle to the rim (see photo). I wanted an easy to use, easy to read heater at a reasonable price and this is it. For reference, the photos show it in a 20 gallon tank. The heater keeps the temperature within 1 degree; Unlike other reviewers, I don't find the on/off button to be as loud or annoying. I live in a warm climate so the heater is turned off about 6 months of the year but I leave it in the tank. The digital display is great, it's a nice feature to easily control the water temperature whether the heater is on or off. Very happy with this purchase after a year of use and I'm used to its unattractiveness - function over form. :)
