so i bought this automatic collar for my 9 lb shih tzu and initially loved it. It was small and buzzed when my dog barked without hurting or startling her. It was perfect for such a small dog. After a few months the collar stopped working. It only beeps when my dog barks very loudly, but doesn't even pick up on their normal barking on the most sensitive settings. It's up to you if you want to try it, but be warned! Original post: Full disclosure, I've only had this collar for about a week, but so far it's amazing! I have a Shih Tzu and Poodle mix that weighs about 10 pounds. The plastic part is a bit big for her but the collar fits well and is not heavy. I have only charged the collar once since purchasing it. It doesn't have big teeth like big dogs, which I really like. She didn't need much as using a spray bottle had already helped her. The problem was that we couldn't get hold of her in time to give her instant feedback when she barked, and sometimes she would get nervous and pee when people ran after her. So we got this collar because it beeps right after my dog barks. She doesn't like the bark, so she usually only tries to bark once before giving up. The collar has progressive levels in which it emits longer beeps and adds vibration as the dog continues to bark. My dog's vibration only worked once. I tried the vibration on myself and it seems to be a very strong phone vibration. Looks ugly, but doesn't hurt at all. It's very safe and effective for my dog and the house is a lot quieter. We have two barking dogs. This collar on one toddler made the other bark less because they no longer bark out of sympathy :) Overall a great collar and well worth the money! At least since the week I had it.
