Where to start? Conclusion - do not buy! I kick myself for not sending it back right away. It was so cute that I decided I would just make it work. I ended up changing literally every accessory that came with it and it still didn't work for me. By the way, I'm not new to marine aquariums; I just wanted a little something extra for my home office. First - it doesn't hold 8 liters of water. The black spacer is some kind of flexible plastic, so mine cracked while adjusting the reverse pump nozzle. It was a small crack so I left it alone, thinking it wouldn't matter much because it would just seep into the recoil chamber. However, since the plastic is flexible, you cannot clean it as it will only crack more. Also, the hole in the bulkhead for the return pump wasn't even the right size. It's too big for the hose and they don't have a baffle so it doesn't stay in place properly. On seawater tanks, I think they also miscut the overflow. only the top ones are needed. The bottom grill interferes with directional flow, which I believe applies to the skimmer (which doesn't work). The return pump is not powerful enough to create good circulation or flow. Over time, this leads to dirty water as it cannot pass through the filter media well enough. The skimmer is a joke. The bubbles are too big, don't absorb anything from the water. Good luck with your setup. Oh, and it's loud. They include two densities of filter media sponges. They don't work well and will need to be replaced over time. It's easy to cut yourself, but it's very inconvenient to get on the camera and when you get there all the dirt flies straight out of the sponges back into the water. The flashlight has no white mode. Only blue and purple. I didn't trust the heater based on what other reviewers said their heater passed an electric current into the water so I didn't even try. The thermometer was inaccurate compared to the other one we have. tank built. Looks great unpacked. But the seals are poorly made. Below, the base isn't under the curved glass, it's inside it, meaning you'll have to rely on silicone alone to hold the weight of the water (it won't). will flow. Save your money and don't buy this "kit" - it's bullshit. Get a small branded tank and outfit it with your own components. I tried to take a shortcut and get it working and it was a complete failure.
