Review on Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom πŸ“· Lens - International Version: Exceptional Image Stability & No Warranty by Seo Jun Seog ᠌

A good product at a good price, I advise you to try it.

The choice of this device was influenced, first of all, by the operation of the optical stabilizer, which, in comparison with the Sigma AF 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM, turned out to be much more effective. In addition, the build quality (Malaysia) was at a decent level. In Sigma, despite the metal mount and rubberized body, something "grunted" and "flopped". When shooting in natural light, autofocus was fast and efficient. There is a small front focus at the short end, but in my opinion, this is not so critical for a telephoto lens. Overall, a decent lens for the money.

Pros
  • Convenient range of focal lengths Relatively good optical quality In my copy there is practically no HA light weight Relatively fast AF Inexpensive Tenacious Stabilizer
Cons
  • Plastic bayonet Noisy operation of the stabilizer Inability to work with polarizing filters (front lens rotates) Small aperture (practically not suitable for shooting indoors) Not suitable for macro photography No lens hood included (illness)

Got pros: Stabilizer. Price. Quite versatile. Often portraits on it are better than landscapes. Got cons: Distortions at extreme points.
