Pretty convenient on my review.

Didn't know what to expect with these; I figured either some very cheap generic collars or something decent. I was pleased with the product's appearance, function, and feel when I first opened the package. They seem durable initially and appear to be better than I thought they'd be, quality wise. A big advantage of these is using them on a long bar, where otherwise you'd have to squeeze a collar and push/pull it long distances. I didn't notice anyone else selling these colored ones, so that is what attracted me to this specific item. I really like the red for a couple reasons; not as likely to get misplaced and blend in with other stuff that's black/dark, as well as being easier to quickly spot to confirm they are on the bar. The retention works well if your bar is actually 1 inch. I have one bar that is slightly under 1 inch and while these attach, you can tell it really isn't 100% secure. Overall I'm pleased with using them initially, and will update if they break.Update: I have used these off and on since 2016, at least one period for about a year straight and they still work fine. Not dropping bars or dangling stuff, just clamping weights for lifts where the bar stays horizontal and I've never had an issue. Again, just make sure it feels secure and your bar needs to be a true one inch.

Pros
  • The clips work. They keep the weights in place snuggly. These are great options for weight clips.
Cons
  • The product may not be as durable as metal collars
