Found on TikTok I've been taking screenshots of how to "defuse" clothes for months. I ordered cleaning supplies for a thick Carhartt jacket my husband wore to the oil field (pandemic thanks). He smelled oilfield mud and oil and finally checked it out. I used 1 full cup laundry detergent, 1/4 cup borax, and 1/4 cup baking soda. Fill the tub with HOT water, pour in and stir. ingredients and then put it into the clothes you want to clean (does not bleach or fade). I leave this jacket on for 5+ hours and stir every hour. Which is crazy AFTER washing this jacket 4 times in a row! (Yes, I really wanted it to be clean). You can do this with towels, blankets, used clothes and it works great to get rid of cigarette smell! Please. :)
