Review on Purina Bella Grilled Chicken Flavor by Jennifer Hernandez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The only readily available dog food my senior dog will eat

Good hearty pie.” I think they call it a bread. Each individual portion container is properly sized to feed a dog weighing approximately 10 pounds. Or less. I feed in the morning and in the evening. I cut it into small squares and hold them one by one in the palm of my hand, and a small, very old dog with few teeth takes the squares and eats them rather greedily, eating nothing else. I don't know if it's the best food, it's just the only food I can get him to eat after trying dozens of varieties. Sometimes he will take highly preferred human food but no other dog food. He has to take two small pills a day and I can easily hide a small pill in a piece of food. I've tried other styles (including more stew-like ones) and he refuses to eat. Aside from not eating and having a hearty cough, he's active and seems happy, but he clearly needs to eat! So if your dog isn't eating, this might help. There is a very similar recipe from the Caesar brand that he will also tolerate, but he seems to prefer Bella. If that doesn't work, there is a special canned food available by prescription through the veterinary clinic, but it's expensive and a hassle to get.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Available in black only
