Review on πŸ§” Remington MB-200 Titanium Mustache and Beard Trimmer: Black - Precision Grooming Tool for Stylish Facial Hair by Theresa Brown

A short-term solution at best.

Bought this after buying an almost identical older Remington MB-300 which was just great. My old trimmer did everything I needed, was durable, had a long battery life and could even run straight from the charger when the battery died. I loved the thing so much that when it finally disappeared after six full years I immediately looked to the newer MB-200 as a replacement. Unfortunately, this iteration of the Remington trimmer is downright pathetic by comparison. Brand new, it can only be charged for a few days even when not in use, which isn't particularly fantastic. Less than a year later, it couldn't even be charged overnight and had to be charged for hours for just one use. Fast forward a few more months and the motor can't go any faster than half speed and just can't do the job it was designed to do. To its credit, the blade's plastic hinge is more durable than that of the 300s, but that doesn't mean much if the trimmer just doesn't work. My god I can't understand why they think it's a smart idea not to allow corded work with such a terrible battery and motor. Obviously, planned obsolescence is more profitable than building things that just work (especially entry-level products). but it was a particularly frustrating effort. I certainly leave with the belief that Remington does not value customer loyalty in the short term and is unlikely to buy anything from them in the future.

Pros
  • Beard & Mustache Grooming
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's just great
