This was my very first 3D printer. Before buying I watched dozens of videos about FDM and SLA printers and most recommend starting with a filament printer (FDM). I suspect this is due to the many complexities (and extra work) required to get a quality resin 3D print. However, from the first print (the obligatory rook) to the printing of some parts for the model rockets, the Elegoo Saturn was an absolute dream. and finally print some thumbnails. I haven't had a bad print with the Elegoos Gray ABS resin. The sandblasted texture of the build plate ensures a very stable adhesion. In fact, the only problem I had was having a bit of a hard time getting the first Rook print off the build plate. The printer's construction appears to be very solid, from the build plate to the vat and chassis. The device is quite difficult to move but I would say it's good. You want it to last. The 4K resolution gives very satisfactory detail and at a layer height of 0.05mm (which is what I've used so far) I can't see any distinguishable layer lines. For anyone looking for a well built, reliable and easy to use 3D printer I would recommend the Elegoo Saturn. The only thing that didn't impress me was Elegoo's support (otherwise it would have been a 5 star rating). I had an issue with some files on the USB drive that came with it, so I emailed them (I'd rather call them, but they didn't give me a US phone number that I could see). Anyway, they never answered my question or my letter. I finally solved the problem by reformatting the USB drive and downloading the latest files from the Elegoo website, but it would be nice to get an answer from them. Now I feel like if there is a problem in the future I won't get much help from the manufacturer.
