This overview refers to the DC2 version. I used this remote with my Nikon Z6 camera, I expect it will behave the same way with Z7. When used as a remote trigger for single shots or multiple shots, the remote works as expected. (Multi mode requires camera to be in burst mode). In wireless or wired mode, press the shutter button on the remote control to take a picture. Bulb also works as expected (camera must be in Bulb mode of course). The timer delay works well too, although the camera can do this itself. However, there are problems with interval timer (time-lapse) recording. Timer programming is quite confusing and may require a trip to Youtube to watch a video on how to do it. After figuring this out, I found that you can't use the interval timer wirelessly, at least with my Z6. You need to use it wired from the remote control. Exactly same settings, works fine in wired mode, doesn't take photo when using wireless receiver. The wireless receiver worked correctly in all other modes, but not in time-lapse mode. It's not really a big problem, but it's an inconvenience. A nice feature change since the creation of this remote is that you can now use the remote not only to take 1-99 time-lapse photos (which isn't really enough), but to take 1-99 photos. 999 photos, plus you can repeat it if needed. So you can customize this to take thousands of photos if you want.
