I bought this to use on my cockatiel and wanted a small net as my betta would try in a small tank, even in a small space to fish A lot of net is simply not possible. I ordered this as the description said it was perfect for a betta. I have a fairly large two-tailed crescent and it would barely fit in a web. It works well for small female bettas, very small fish that are only about 1 inch or maybe in tanks with smaller openings, but if you are using an aquarium get a larger mesh for ease of use and to protect the betta from possible injury and stress when trying to reach a net that is too small.
