So I bought this mount thinking it would be fine for a few months. It's been half a year and he's still holding out! It comes with two magnets (a rectangular piece of metal and a round piece with a slightly sticky backing) so both my phone and my husband's phone can be used. I have an Otterbox Commuter case and sandwich a metal back between the hard plastic case and the softer rubber case. My husband has an iPhone with a Lime case (it's a hard plastic case) and he simply uses rounded metal between the case and the back of his phone. I have found that the magnetic part of the mount sags over time. After some research I realized that it can actually be re-tightened. Now we have used this mount with 4 different phones of different sizes and have had no problems. Highly recommended!
