Windows 7 Professional recognizes this reader immediately and adds four new drive letters, one for each card type. The supplied cable supplies the device with data and power, is one meter long and is part of the device. When you insert the card, the Kingston logo will light up and blink several times. The SD slots fit snugly and there's no click to indicate you're done inserting like you might be used to with other devices. Looks like a great little device but the quirky nature of the blinking logo loses a star for me. It's advisable to use a blinking logo to indicate read or write attempts, but it starts reading too early on insert. If you haven't fully plugged it in when the indicator stops flashing, you'll need to unplug it and plug it back in. It's easy once you know the depth of the slot, but make sure your user gets controlled playtime when they first open it. :) For working with low volume SD and microSD cards (five or less) at home, this seems like a steal at $18. I love being able to work with compact flash and DUO media in the future.
