Review on Tombow 56429 Fudenosuke Colors Brush Pens, 10-Pack: Vibrant Assortment of Hard Tip Fudenosuke Brush Pens for Calligraphy and Art Drawings by Kelly Caballes

Great way to try both pens and see which one works for you

I'm new to brush lettering so bought this one to try. I've also tried several other pens and these are the only ones I can write with (due to inexperience no doubt). So for the nobility painting lettering this is a great place to start. Everyone is different, but for now I prefer a hard brush to a soft one. That may change as I gain experience, but now I have more control with a stiff brush. I've had one of these before and have already made good progress with the lettering. I've watched several YouTube videos of these brushes and found them helpful. I'm deducting a star because these new pens write with a dry side without packaging. I'm not sure how long they will last. I wish they were reusable. Be sure to get "Fudenosuke" pens, they are not the same as Fude pens. The model numbers for this are WS-BS 150 (soft) and WS-BH 150 (hard). Everything else on the pens and packaging is written in Japanese so that they can be distinguished from one another. The soft handle is completely black, the hard handle is very dark blue, almost black. It would be nice if at least the supplement had an English translation. No stars for that, just a wish. Don't judge me for my lettering, it was only a day later. hope for improvement!

Pros
  • Calligraphy pens
Cons
  • Very expensive
