These buttons will likely work according to the instructions for light fabrics but NOT according to the instructions for heavy upholstery. With upholstery, the hemispherical dome must be supported by a suitable concave support, otherwise the dome will collapse before the lid snaps into place. In addition, the lid must be pushed in slowly and must not clog. The lid does not go in evenly all the way around and the pressure applied needs to be adjusted higher on the high side. As the pressure increases, the cap actually snaps into place. It is highly recommended to use the push button.
