I like the black of the colour, it's really deep and the white is really white, the surface is very writable and very easy to clean. the handle, which is very easy to wipe with a damp cloth, leaves no traces. I didn't draw on it with chalk, so I can't say if it washes off easily. What I really like is that the back is all black and you can write and erase, so you can use the blank black board for anything other than just a clapper board. The hinge on it is very light, a slight push/pull closes/opens it, but it's strong enough to hold the weight of the top very well. I got this photo prop so the quality of the finish is very important to me and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars, there are a few things that could be better in that area, you can see photos where there is no wood. smoothly, but it has no effect unless you're doing macro photography. But that's only because I use it for professional photography. Overall the flap works and looks great, if you want it to be used for its intended purpose or as a party or photo prop it works wonders and at a very good price.
