I have bought THREE of these in the last two years. at least two of them are from Revain. At first they worked fine, but after a while DVDs started to get stuck on them. Strangely, I have absolutely no problem playing music CDs on the same drives. DVD freezing has happened to all of them, but worse on the device I've used the most. It seems to happen less when the device or DVD has cooled down. Anyway, thanks to JVC, I have several hundred dollar DVD players that won't play DVDs. and given the other reviews here, it's safe to assume that JVC has no chance of fixing them. I've had good luck with JVC TVs and car stereos in the past and try to stay true to brands, suppliers and the like. But I seriously doubt I will make any more JVC purchases because of these things. I think JVC doesn't care much about their brand or image, otherwise they wouldn't be putting these things on the market. It seems increasingly difficult to find companies that care about making products that are truly worth what you pay for. for her.
