Review on 🧦 Durable and Cozy: Darn Tough Men's Hiker Merino Wool Micro Crew Socks with Cushioning by Tyler Kota

Darn Tough socks are the best socks I've ever owned. Darn Tough vs. Smart Wool: After wearing a pair of Smart Wool socks (with my Frye boots) over the winter, the Smart Wool socks frayed on the heel and to a lesser extent the sole. I literally wore them out. Damn Tough vs. Kirkland: I bought a pair of wool boot socks (Kirkland, a Costco brand) and they survived the winter very well. They started to wear out in the heel area, but nothing critical. My Darn Tough socks are halfway through the winter and still feel the way they did when I bought them. What seems to really put Darn Tough first (compared to Kirkland) is the 100% guarantee they give you. I also have a pair of Darn Tough running socks that I wear every day (and run 3.5 miles every day) and after over a year of use they are like new. I expect these Darn Tough socks to perform about the same. Overall I would give Smart Wool (out of 10) a 5, Kirkland an 8.5 and Darn Tough a 9. UPDATE (December 18, 2016): Kirkland socks are still fine, but the ribbing at the top of the socks is starting to crumble and the elastic part of the socks doesn't seem to be as elastic as in the new look. Darn Tough socks are still made to last. There are some signs of wear but nothing to worry about. Considering I wear them so often it's amazing that they are in such good condition. If I had to change the rating I would choose: Smart Wool 5, Kirkland 8, Darn Tough 9.5.
