Durable Hiking Socks

I took off these socks and wore them on a 5 mile hike in the Colorado wilderness this spring and I have to say I'm impressed. I will definitely buy another pair. The temperature was around 25:00 in the morning and 45:00 in the afternoon and my feet felt so comfortable. The socks wick sweat well and have cushion in all the right places. They are thin at the top and thicker at the toes and heels, but not too thick to be uncomfortable in boots. They also don't compress the midfoot, which I don't…

Too tight, short and not warm enough

Every winter my feet get very cold. I don't know if I have Raynaud or something like that. I decided to get new wool socks after trying a few different brands to see what worked for me. If you are looking for sock reviews, these are the most recommended socks. I thought they were just fine. I wear a US size 10 for men and I am a size large. They are quite tight and not as warm as I would like. And I don't have big legs, I have skin and bones there. If you look at the 3 star reviews you will see

Replacing my favorite Kirkland socks

I buy Kirkland wool hiking socks and I love them. Since they are so much cheaper I figured I could wear multiple pairs for the price of one pair of Darn Tough socks. But after hearing so much about DT socks I bought a pair to try them out. The difference is significant, and they're worth the extra cost for many reasons. Kirkland socks are larger and thicker, see photo. You may think this is better, but you are wrong. The weave is very loose (see second photo) which not only makes them thicker…

Preferably. socks. Is always. Good for Socks

A few years ago I decided it was worth taking the time to find the best quality clothing and personal items. The difference between the best and simply good can be overwhelming. After much research and trial and error I will only wear AllBirds wool shoes and only Darn Tough socks. yes they are expensive You can fill a shopping bag with discount socks for the same price as a pair. But they are WORTH it, not only for sporty people who go hiking and the like. They're very comfortable, cool in the…

Damn cool against the competition!

Darn Tough socks are the best socks I've ever owned. Darn Tough vs. Smart Wool: After wearing a pair of Smart Wool socks (with my Frye boots) over the winter, the Smart Wool socks frayed on the heel and to a lesser extent the sole. I literally wore them out. Damn Tough vs. Kirkland: I bought a pair of wool boot socks (Kirkland, a Costco brand) and they survived the winter very well. They started to wear out in the heel area, but nothing critical. My Darn Tough socks are halfway through the…

The best damn socks for the money.

As a warehouse worker, I'm on my feet for more than 10 hours and my socks are like butter on hot cakes. When I received them I didn't expect to like them, but I was wrong. The perfect combination of thickness and they really keep your feet cool (or warm) and cushion even in steel toes. They feel strong and the seams are almost seamless but let's give them a good 6 months in intensive storage conditions and see how they hold up. then I update. If they are still good, then that would be 5 stars…
